Sarah Carter, MSW
Riverbend Counseling Staff
Richmond Office
I received my Bachelor of Arts from University of Virginia and my Master of Social Work from Michigan State University. My background includes working in the areas of refugee resettlement, crisis response, violence prevention, and sexual and domestic violence survivor support. My own journey of healing and integration has allowed me to walk alongside clients through their most challenging moments with compassion and hope. I prioritize creating a warm and safe environment and work to understand each client’s unique background. I strongly believe that therapy can be a powerful tool for healing and transformation of the mind, body, and spirit. I take an intuitive, trauma-informed approach and work at a pace that comfortably supports clients in their connection to themself and others.
In my free time, you’ll find me in the garden, studying herbalism, or hiking with loved ones.
